Mena Alexandra suvari born February 13, 1979 in the USA is an actress as well as a fashion designer and model. She began her modeling career in 1990. She soon shifted into acting, after appearances in television shows like Boy Meets World or High Incident. The film debut came in 1997's drama Nowhere. After her performance on the screen in American Beauty (for which she was awarded the BAFTA Award) and American Pie which brought her greater attention, she began the transition to major parts. She's appeared alongside American Pie's Co-Star Jason Biggs in Loser (2000) before starring as the role of lead in Sugar & Spice (2001). In 2002, she was a part in Spun the independent drama and 2004's thriller Trauma. The year 2004, she starred in HBO's series Six Feet Under. She received nominations for the Screen Actors Guild Awards in 2005 as part of the Outstanding Ensemble. In 2008, she was part of several films such as Day of the Dead The Mysteries of Pittsburgh and the movie adaptation of The Garden of Eden. Suvari appeared on fashion blogs and in various magazines such as Vogue and Lancome Paris Adaptive print ads. She has backed and served as an advocate of the African Medical and Research Foundation over the years. She is also involved in issues of female empowerment and has been involved in charities whose cause is breast cancer as well as the End Violence Against Women campaign.
